Fall Camp and Beyond

It's hard to pick out what to share from such a packed and exciting month! To start with, a close friend from my time as a FOCUS student got MARRIED!

I was so honored to be one of her bridesmaids! Here we are reuniting with friends from a past FOCUS small group. Several of my own bridesmaids are girls I met and became close with during my time as a FOCUS student.

September is always an exciting month for our ministry because it kicks off our Fall Camp season! Fall Camp is a time for students to become closer with the people in their cores (small groups) and get to know other students from their campus. There are times for worship, testimonies, games, arts and crafts, and bonding activities. When I was a student, I loved taking walks and talking with the other girls in my core at Fall Camp.

As a new staff person, I took the opportunity to bond with the other UTD staff at camp this year. Here we are enjoying Panera before students start arriving at camp!

Since I'm a campus administrator, I had a pretty different experience working Fall Camp than the rest of my team. Instead of corralling a core and organizing activities, I was responsible for checking students in, taking payment, and helping out in the background. While it was a hectic time, I could tell that the students were engaged in the content of the testimonies and eager to spend time together.

UTD Fall Camp was pretty well-attended. 🙂

While Fall Camp may be over, there is still much excitement in our future! October 15th is UTD FOCUS Family Night, a time for students to bring their parents and loved ones to experience our ministry and meet our staff. And November (which is just around the corner) will bring Pizza Theology, a semesterly event for the entire ministry to gather and listen to a theological lecture! This semester's topic is the book of Revelation. I can't wait to dive in!

Before you go, take a moment to read our October student testimony and see how God is working in our ministry!
